Moussa Diop

Mousa maintains wide-ranging research interests in real estate. But his primary research focus is on real estate rental markets, particularly on regulations and rental market outcomes, and mortgage securitization. He has also examined the effects of corporate real estate ownership and market structure on firm risk and returns. He has published in Real Estate Economics, the Journal of Urban Economics, the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, and Economic Development Quarterly. Moussa received the 2018 Edwin S. Mills Real Estate Economics Best Paper Award and the 2016 Outstanding Referee Award from Real Estate Economics. He was also a Homer Hoyt Institute Weimer School of advanced Studies in Real Estate and Land Economics 2016 Postdoctoral Honoree. Prior to receiving his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the Pennsylvania State University, Moussa earned an MA in economics from the University of Connecticut, an MBA in finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a graduate degree in civil engineering and urban planning (Diplôme d’Ingénieur Génie Civil et Urbanisme) from Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) of Lyon, France.
