The Department of City and Regional Planning (DCRP) at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant, Associate or Full Professor position in urban planning with a focus on Housing Planning and Policy.

We seek candidates whose research agenda has defined, or promises to define, important directions in housing scholarship, and whose work has received national and international recognition relative to their career stage. We welcome applications from scholars with interests and expertise in housing planning and policy across national and global contexts and using any of a number of research methods, in areas including but not limited to: zoning, land use, and housing supply; alternative tenure and ownership models; local, regional, state, and federal-level housing policy; governance of housing markets and planning; financialization of housing; housing instability, human health, and homelessness; the reshaping of housing needs by displacement, migration, and demographic shifts; the influence of emerging technologies on housing typologies and markets; and regulatory frameworks and policies influencing housing decarbonization. We are particularly interested in scholars using novel methods of data analysis and new data sources.
