AREUEA Privacy Policy

The American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your confidential information to the extent possible, subject to provisions of state and federal law. We will not and do not re-distribute or sell personal information collected on our web servers or through our databases.

AREUEA may collect personal biographical information such as name, preferred pronouns (optional), title, department and organization, phone number, postal address, e-mail address, areas of research expertise, and year of terminal degree. With your permission, this biographical information may be included in an online membership directory available to AREUEA members. You are given the option to be listed in AREUEA’s membership directory when you sign-up or renew your membership each year.

In addition, AREUEA may collect certain demographic information such as gender, race, and ethnicity.  Providing this information is voluntary.  This demographic information will not be disclosed publicly. Demographic information may be used internally by AREUEA executive committee members (or their appointees) to evaluate and advance AREUEA’s ability to serve all its members.

Additional personal information, such as credit card account information, may be requested for membership or registration purposes. Web servers typically collect, at least temporarily, the following information: Internet Protocol (IP) address of computer being used; web pages requested; referring web page; browser used; date and time. AREUEA will not retain or analyze this information.

AREUEA may use contact information collected from our website(s) for the purpose of future communication back to members and conference attendees, in order to keep you informed of such conference or membership activities and programs.

AREUEA will not disclose personal information collected about you unless required by law nor will AREUEA distribute or sell personal information to third-party organizations. However, it is impossible for AREUEA to guarantee that user data is immune from malicious attack or compromise; as such, users should understand that their transmission of personal data is at their own risk.
