Statement of Purpose: I am concerned that real estate data access for academic research is becoming increasingly problematic and that one cannot confidently assert that the situation will improve in the next few years. Beyond the usual duties expected of the 2nd VP at AREUEA, my personal mission will be to use the "pulpit" to explore partnerships within and outside academic institutions that will facilitate member access to existing data resources and create opportunities for access to new data resources. I hope that my extensive experience with commercial real estate and leadership at the Commercial Real Estate Data Alliance (CREDA) as well as with the Real Estate Research Institute qualify me for a role that promotes and supports scholarship at AREUEA. My research work in real estate can be found here, and service to the profession (especially in real estate) can be found here.
