Position Summary:

The Real Estate and Urban Land Economics Department in the Wisconsin School of Business seeks an Associate or Full Professor in the field of Real Estate and Economics. The position would be responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate students in Real Estate & Urban Land Economics or related field at the Wisconsin School of Business, conducting scholarly research and performing university service. In addition, this person will initially serve as the academic director of a newly created MS program in Affordable Housing and Sustainable Development (AHSD). This high-profile position requires research expertise and interest in one or preferably both of those areas, as well as the ability to teach one or two courses per year as part of the MS program. As academic director, the individual will be expected to provide intellectual leadership in building a teaching and administrative team, in growing enrollment and in building institutional bridges across campus.

The University of Wisconsin's Department of Real Estate and Urban Land Economics is one of the oldest undergraduate academic real estate programs in the world, and one of the best, consistently ranked as one of the top real estate programs in the United States. The Department traces its history back to Richard T. Ely's 1925 program in Land and Public Utility Economics. Among top real estate programs, UW is renowned for its breadth, awarding Bachelors, MBA, MS and Ph.D. degrees. The department is also proud to be part of a great university with excellent resources available to both faculty and students. The Wisconsin School of Business currently enrolls approximately 3,208 undergraduates (sophomore/junior/senior level), 534 masters, and 61 PhD students.

Principal Duties:

  • Provide classroom and individual instruction for undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students
  • Contribute to the intellectual and academic life of the department. University and community service will be expected as appropriate.
